A Day at The Beach

Last Sunday we took a little trip to Sandy Hook beach in the Atlantic Highlands. This is the beach nearest to our home and the bay side is dog friendly.  We new it be to crowded for Bob and that Ping would likely be uncomfortable so we brought the three youngest, Weasley Fry and Tuvok.   Tuvok has been to the beach once before, but this was Weasley and Fry's first visit.

We started the morning with a trip to the Flaky Tart a pastry and coffee shop.

Then headed down to the beach.  The bayside is very small but there is enough room to walk

or run on the sand:

And if your like Tuvok and are not remotely interested in running, lounging is perfectly acceptable too.

People use the bay side for paddle boarding, kayaking and fishing so theres lots to see.

The bay side is popular with dog owners, but there weren't too many dogs there Sunday morning.  We did meet a little white dog, Molly, that Weasley fell in love with:

I  think the fact that Molly was swimming was what made Weasley so brave about going in the water, Fry and  Tuvok where not interested at all.

We had so much fun on our beach day!

To be continued next week, with the ice cream we got after the beach!

  1. It's nice to have a dog friendly beach!

  2. Mom misses the Jersey shore

  3. Oh what fun! And Weasley is VERY brave, going in the water like that. I mean it looks like those waves were ENORMOUS!
    Toodle pip!

  4. Were you tired when you got home, mom said her 2 legged kids were always tired out, we don't have a beach around here, so we run through the kitty litter and pretend. stella rose

  5. In the running shot with the ears up, it looks like you have a Frenchie!

  6. Beautiful sky and water. Looks like you had lovely outing!
So Weasley met a girl :-) Love the photos of him in water!

  7. I'm loving your beach pictures and your outfit, especially the hat! It's good to see the dogs having a great time as well, each in their own way! xxx

  8. Oh my! I loves loves loves the BEACH! I really like to chase the waves and smell the salt air. We live about 45 minutes (32 miles) from the Pacific Ocean and it is so worth the drive. I just wish we could go there more often.
    Love Noodles

  9. What a fun day! Rita and I go for a run/walk on the beach at least once a week. She loves it!

  10. We would love to see a beach someday - there is a resevoir near us but we have never been. Looks like it was a fun day

  11. One of my most favorite beaches ever..I spent most of the mid eighties and early nineties living in Atlantic Highlands and Sea Bright!!

So glad they are allowing pups on the beach!

  12. Oh to live near a beach! I live in the very middle of England so it's always a special trip to go to the seaside. I really envy you having one so close. xx

  13. hehehe I love your dog pictures, especially when they are running. Too cute! And you look just perfect for a day at the beach.

  14. Aww, how sweet that he found love at the beach. That reminds me of the opening scenes in the movie Grease. :)

Wonderful outfit for a day at the water. You always nail it on the sunhat front sooooo well!

    xoxo ♥ Jessica

  15. It looks like such a lovely day. How lovely that you can take your dogs to a friendly beach and let them experience the waves :)

  16. Looks like a wonderful day out! So glad you were able to enjoy a great day at the beach before summer ends <3

  17. OMP! HOW FUN! Looks like the pugs loved romping through the sand and waves (and Tuvok preferred to sit under the umbrella and read a book LOL). Glad you all had such a good time. The beach is one of my favorite places to go - although we usually have to wait until the weather is just right. Nice and warm but not too hot for a pug! :)

  18. Aw, how adorable! It looks as though all five of you had a great day at the beach.

  19. How fun! Are they lobsters on your beach jacket?
