As I cut and folded I imagined wearing the fabulos clothes myself one day, but when I grew up I was confronted with boring modern clothes. It took two decades but eventually I discovered the wonders of vintage style. I don't actually have many 20s pieces in my wardrobe, they tend to be delicate, small, and pricey! I'm beginning to rectify the wardrobe gap though, with accessories. The first is an authentic 1920s cloche gat from Fab Gabs I used some gift money I received for my recent 37 birthday to purchase this beauty and I certainly don't regret it.
The condition of this hat is incredible!! Like new. I got plenty of positive comments when I wore it, including a loud "Gatsby" catcall from a passing truck ( not sure if that was positive or not).
Of course Repro twenties stuff is plenty fun too. Like these cute shoes from American Duchess that I nabbed on sale a few months ago. Their plenty comfortable too, and I walk a lot.
I've got my first authentic flapper dress now too, look for a post on that in the coming weeks! So my twenties may be far behind me, but it seems my 1920s journeys are just beginning.

Mum says she luffs the hat and the shoes!
ReplyDeleteThere is so much style in vintage fashions, nothing just 'thrown' together, all instead worked down to the last perfect detail

My word, that hat is stunner! You suit 1920s fashions every bit as well as you do those from the 30s and 40s, dear Kate (lucky you!!! 20s and 30s looks are rarely kind to me!).
ReplyDeleteI hope you're doing great and having a wonderful weekend!
Big hugs,
♥ Jessica
