This film version of the famous poem was made in 1905 by Edwin S. Porter who made many films for Thomas Edison's production company including The Great Train Robbery.

This timeless poem is so dear to my heart. My mother would read it to us kids every year as a child on Christmas Eve, the tree and fireplace both glowing in the background as she brought the words to life with vivid beauty and storytelling skill. To this day, I still read it myself annually, just as she did (I hope the pets enjoy it :)).
