Whats the coolest retro spot in NYC? My vote goes to the Brooklyn Farmacy and Soda Fountain. Brooklyn Farmacy and Soda Fountain hearkens back to the days when people would congregate at soda and ice cream shops. Its filled with antique collectibles and serves delicious old timey treats, paradise for a vintage style lover. Two weeks ago to celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary my husband and I took a trip there.

After we went to the Soda Fountain my husband and I visited the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. The garden was founded in 1910. Here is an early image of the park's Japanese Garden in 1915:

A trip to retro shop deserves a vintage outfit and thanks to the lovely Etsy shops Adeline's Attic and Nancy Naz I had a pretty 1930s skirt and blouse set and a cute coconut purse for my Brooklyn trip.

Oh I love the botanic garden! Never been to the soda shoppe Though, looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteThis is a GORGEOUS post. Every picture is a little piece of art. I have never heard of coconut purses! Adorable. You look beautiful in your new outfit. You wear vintage so well.
ReplyDeleteI keep running lists for a few different cities around the world of places I hope dearly to visit if I should ever have the good fortune of being there. The Brooklyn Farmacy is going on my NYC now for sure!
ReplyDeleteLove your classic 1930s ensemble - that decade suits you really well, dear lady.
