Now I couldn't pull of the heels or the suit, certainly not for walking my dogs, but thanks to Adeline's Attic on Etsy. I had a lovely hat to wear during a recent trip to central park.

I love how vintage accessories like this hat always put me in a good mood.
You and my daughter can really pull off a hat! Isn't that photo marvelous! I just love how together the women looked then!
ReplyDeleteI hear you loud and clear, dear gal! I've never really wrapped my head (which usually has a vintage hat perched on it) around why hats - and for that matter gloves - went out of style, by and large, in today's world. Sure we still have baseball caps, menswear style fedoras, and a few other hats, but the days of each woman cultivating a collection of stylish, beloved hats is all but a thing of the past (at least outside of the vintage world). Thank goodness for ladies like us who are keep the time honoured art of wearing hats alive and well.

We think that hats should make a come back. LOL just imagining me taking my peeps out to the park in that get up. Very chic but gosh it would be funny. Have a wonderful Wednesday.

I think you're going to bring the hat back - either that, or when others see how good you look in a hat, they'll be afraid to wear one and look less wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great hat. Nowadays people don't put half as much though into accessorizing like this, especially just for a walk in the park. Love the vintage photos!
