Wordless Wednesday-Jammie Time

Now for the non wordless part.  The good news our computer should deb back and fixed by Friday, yeah!  The bad news, despite the jambes in the picture above Fry has been waking up every morning at 330 am!  He sleeps in a crate next to our bed.  Of course I take him out to pee but afterwards he will not return to sleep!  Living in an urban area, I can't really ignore him.  This morning we tried and he cried for one hour.   Ive also tried giving him kongs but he quiets for only a few minutes.   I know that the cats are contributing to waking him up because they paw at the door or meow wanting to eat at 4 am. I have switched that cats to a wet meal in the evening, it may take them months to accept the change but Im hoping that if they don't anticipate morning wet food they won't come into the room meowing and waking up Fry.   Since I can't let Fry scream Ive decided to get up with him and sit with him but not play to much, just keep him quiet, because I don't want to reinforce his screaming.  Im hoping as he gets older he will learn to sleep  in, just until 5 am!

  1. love those jammies, when stella rose was little she did that, and I would often find myself out on the back porch with a cup of coffee at 4 am ....sitting in the quiet...sometimes it was nice and sometimes I just really wanted to go back to bed, sooooo I would go back to bed, and put her in it with me, and we would both snuggle and sleep awhile longer......deb

  2. Mabel is getting better about sleeping longer, she was waking us up about 3:30 - 4. I would take her out to potty and then we would have to settle her down to go back to sleep - but she sleeps right between us on the bed. Now she is pretty good about making it till the alarm goes off thank goodness

  3. Such cute jammie pictures! I never could keep Elliot in a crate, he would scream the house down. As soon as I took him out of it and put him into a bed next to my side of the bed I never heard another peep out of him during the night.

  4. That's a tough situation since you can't let him scream it out. I have to admit, Jimmy was the same way, so I just started bringing him to bed with me. He never peed in the bed and was too little to jump down and get into trouble. He was happy and quiet, and I got to sleep. After that he only woke for the valid reason of needing to go out. Of course we continued to crate him during the day, but that didn't seem to bother him nearly as much as night time.

  5. Oh my goodness, that is way too early. We had the same problem with our beagle, Bailey when she was a pup. We lived in an apt building at the time, so letting her scream in the crate was NOT an option. That's how she wormed her way into our bed. As with Taryn and Jimmy, she never peed on the bed, and was too little to jump down, so I could sleep and not worry about her, and she was happy to be with us and quiet. (And then she slept with us every night until she was 6 - and then she promptly got out of bed one night, walked down the hall, and started sleeping in the guest room. We were like "what did we do??") That jammie photo is too cute!

  6. He is just so cute though. All those little problems that have to be sorted. Of course getting up that early isn't a little problem.

  7. I was all confused after Christmas when we came back home and kept waking the peeps up at 2am. Then they started taking me for a late night walkies every evening just before bedtime and I eventually got back in to a routine and understood that I was meant to sleep ALL night. I'm sure that Fry will learn your routine, just give him time, he is such a cutie pie

  8. Yay!!! What great news that your computer is going to pull through. I'm happy for you, dear Kate. Your pups are too cute for words in their matching pajamas. I literally "awwed" allowed when I saw this photo. :)

Big hugs to all of you,
    ♥ Jessica

  10. Glad your computer will be fixed this week!
Bob and Fry are looking so cute in the jammies. Waking up that early must be really tough for you. My coworker was just telling me the same thing yesterday. I don't know if it'll work or maybe you are already doing, but more intensive playtime before bed may keep him asleep longer? I sure hope he will eventually sleep in until 5am :-)

  12. Those matching PJ's are really cool! Fry, you look so teeny next to Bob! You've gotta let you parents get some sleep though, little man - just take a cue from your relaxed older sibs. Remember, the more sleep your 'rents get, the happier they are, and the happier they are the more likely you are gonna get treats and playtime! :)

    Sid.

  14. Adorable pjs! That's a tough issue, waking up at 3:30 every day. Mom would lose her mind. She doesn't sleep well to begin with. Hope he starts to settle down soon!

  15. Very cute picture! Those early riser puppies and kitties are real pills, aren't they? What if you really wore them out with some tricks and fun exercises right before bed--would they sleep later then?
